“Welcome to Palestine” is written on the first building after crossing the Rafah border into the Gaza Strip. After suffering from a massive day long headache on Wednesday, January 5th, I kid you not, my headache disappeared in an instant the minute I crossed the border. The psychological effect of reading “Welcome to Palestine” erased the effects of five weeks of brutal treatment to my body.
I’m safe. I’m in Gaza. This message is being written from the computer of a person in Gaza City. Yes, they have computers. They have a lot of things we have. Sadly everything, absolutely everything, is limited of acheiving or being enjoyed to its fullest potential. I’ll expand on that later.
For 42 hours (or less) I will take in every second. Every brutal day on the road is being made up for in the company of the people of Gaza. Which means there is so much to write about (and even more to edit). So after I leave Gaza and head for Cairo for 4 days, I will begin to submit a number of dispatches looking back on my time in Gaza, the convoy, and the struggle for Palestine.
For now I send my love and solidarity to my family and all of you reading this. For everyone that contributed to this trip and project. Most importantly to the Palestinians I met in Greece, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Egypt; and my sister Manal in the West Bank who’s been following these updates religiously… All of whom could never travel to Gaza.
8:32 pm. Viva Palestina.

Its so good to read another post from you, Adriano. Members of Intervarsity at RIT have been praying for you.
I’m really glad you made it in safe, and that you’ve been physically restored.
Peace
I hope that you were able to get as much out of the trip to Gaza that you could as I read that you are all being deported. I really wish I was able to stay with the convoy to completion. I am glad that you are well, we have all been worried about you (as well as the rest of the convoy members!). I can’t wait to see your documentary and see you again!
